DIY

On the wedding blog that I read almost daily, there are frequently (and I mean FREQUENTLY) do it yourself (hereinafter referred to as DIY) projects and tips.  Don't get me wrong, I love DIY things.  And, I would typically classify our wedding as pretty do it yourself.  However, these brides put me to shame.  It's like they are the Martha Stewart of wedding projects and I am an amateur.  The things they take on...wowza.  However, one bride recently described these little paper lanterns she's making.  Here's what hers look like:

Honestly, to me, they look a little like pin cushions.  But, once I looked at it more closely and checked out the tutorial, it was pretty obvious that they were paper.  And, that they were pretty awesome.  The bride who submitted the picture above described contemplating stringing them over lights so the lights shine through the slits in between the paper pieces.  I think they would be great - with or without lights.  I really can imagine all of the uses for them.

In other DIY news, I don't think I've blogged about this other fun idea that I've seen other brides use.  You know how in days of yore (who even says that anymore, by the way?), people tossed rice at the bride and groom bride?  Or, blew bubbles? Or, set off sparklers and waved them around....just waiting for someone to catch on fire?  Oh, wait.  That might be my paranoia talking.  Anyway.  The fun idea.  Ribbon wands.  What the heck is a ribbon wand, you ask?  It's this delightfully fun thing for people to wave around in their excitement as Crissy and I are pronounced.....something (guess we should figure out what that pronouncement is, huh?).  They look something like this:

Source for tutorial

And, when put to use, it looks a little like this:

What great idea would you have - or would you suggest?  We're always open to ideas... The other nice thing about ribbon wands?  No mess in my parents yard, no sticky hands from bubbles....just fun ribbons waving in the wind.

Progress

Remember a long time ago when I said I'd be accountable and keep people posted about the whole weight loss thing?  That hasn't really worked out too well, huh?  Sorry about that.  Well, I guess maybe you haven't really been worried about it - but it does kind of stink for me to say that I'll be accountable for it and then not follow through with it.  I seem to be much more inclined to only blog about anything weight loss related when things aren't going so well or when I'm beyond frustrated with something.  Maybe other people are like that, too.  I don't know.

The good news is that the weight loss keeps moving in the right direction.  Since early September, I've lost darn near 20 pounds (as in within half a pound of 20).  I don't remember the exact starting weight, which makes it hard to say whether I've lost 19 or 20 pounds....but you get the point.  As Sam pointed out yesterday, things are different this time and I haven't gained back a single ounce along the way.  There's nothing up and down this time around, as there has been in the past.  So, that's a good thing.  Crissy is pretty much rockin it too.  I can't disclose her weight loss because we keep it a big secret, but she's doing great!  :)

So. Many. Choices.

I have no doubt that once I actually buy a wedding dress, I will stop feeling like every dress I see is better than the last.  But, in the meantime....I keep finding dresses that I like.  Some better than the prior ones - some are just different.  The one I like today?  This one:

I think I have settled on wanting a dress with color.  Since first seeing the dress with the tulle skirt a while ago and debating it in champagne, followed by the gorgeous blush colored Vera Wang dress, I can't imagine wearing an all white or ivory dress.  The color just makes it so much more fun - and unique.  I mean, every bride wears white or ivory.  How many wear champagne or blush?!?!  Well, I will, I've decided.  And, the dress above is much more in line with the budget than my beloved Vera Wang.  Don't get me wrong....I LOVE the Vera Wang dress still.  But, I am also moderately practical.  However, should someone magically gift me the Vera Wang dress, I have my shoes all picked out:

I should really note that the gorgeous Badgley Mischka shoes pictured above are currently on sale on Piperlime for only $79.99...down from $215.  I mean, some might take that as a sign that it's all destined to be.  Good thing I'm more practical than that, right?!?!  Don't worry, dad - I'm not buying the shoes.  Or, the Vera Wang dress.  But, I'm more than happy to dream for now....

Holy Snow, Batman!

In case you've lived in a bubble, the midwest is being hit by a "blizzard"....well, right about now.  I only put "blizzard" in quotes because the worst of it hasn't quite happened for us yet.  We have probably something like 8 or so inches right now - and I did shovel earlier, only to have the wind and continuous snowfall recover the drive somewhat before I even got back inside.  I know people have freaked out about this storm - and I'm not going to lie, it is the worst we've had in a long time.  But, I wonder if we have much to worry about after places like New York got hit with something like 30 inches in December or something.

In other news, they're now calling for "thunder -snow."  It has something or other to do with pressure and stuff - but it results in thunder and lightning like in a thunderstorm....but with snow.  Crissy is anxiously awaiting the thunder-snow.  We'll see.

In the meantime - we're hanging out inside watching tv and enjoying the warmth (with our fingers crossed that we don't lose power).  Hope everyone is toasty indoors!

No words

Ever have one of those days where there just aren't words - or so few of them, there might as well not be any? Today is one of those days. All day I've felt compelled to blog...to write...to compose a letter to my mom who can't read it anymore. But, in reality... I don't know what I'd say beyond "I miss you." Today is the anniversary of my mom's death and after four years, it feels just as hard as it did the first year. Maybe it's me, but I just don't know what on earth ever prepares us for this type of loss. And, that's coming from someone who helps kids deal with grief and loss on a regular basis. Death sucks. Not having my mom around sucks. And, I miss her every stinking day....even when I don't say it outloud. These past four years have taught me, if nothing else, to be grateful for what you have when you have it - and to tell people how you feel while you have that chance. They've also taught me that grief doesn't get easier in a matter of four years - if ever...especially if it's your mom. But, again...that might just be me.

So, quite simply:

Dear mom,

I miss you. And, I love you more than you probably knew. I wish you could see me get married (again) and see the grandkids that will happen one day and see Bill grow into an even better kid than before. And, I wish we could have lunch. Perhaps just once more? You taught me more than either one of us would have expected. For all of your faults, you were really a great mom and I wish we had been able to communicate that better.

Life really just isn't the same without you around. I love you.

Love,
Trish

Fork in the road

Do you ever have one of those moments where you feel like you're moving along in the right direction, without questioning any of the choices...and then wham!  You're faced with a fork in the road.  Literally or figuratively - whatever.  Either result in a decision to be made.

Okay, so this may not be the most thought-provoking blog post - or the most significant, but it's definitely one that causes thought on my part.  Remember a while ago when I posted about being frugal?  Well, I've really been trying to stick to that.  You see, I've been perfectly content with skimping on some things (no worries - those things don't include food or alcohol).  Even this past weekend when Crissy and I were celebrating my dad's installation thing, I pushed her to be more frugal than she was starting to think.  My parents hired a (pretty great, honestly) band to play for my dad's event and it got us thinking, "Man, a band would really be nice for a few hours before we turn on the iPod to shake our booties to."  But, then I reminded Crissy that that money could really be used elsewhere.  This frugal thing has really sunk in.  I've even been saving my reimbursement checks for the past month to be able to pay off another bill that needs taken care of.  That means I've been living off of just my income. Crazy!

Long, rambling story shorter....I got an email today.  From David's Bridal.  I don't normally open these - because they're typically "$99 dress sale" kind of emails (with not so hot $99 dresses).  Today's subject line was far different.  It announced the preview of a new line of dresses.....White by Vera Wang.  Yes, you read it correctly - Vera Wang is doing a line for David's Bridal.  This may not mean anything to some of you (or, really - lots of you).  But, imagine something you love for $6,000 and someone telling you that you'd be able to get a version of it for around $1,000.  Pretty great, huh?  Well, that's what this is like.  Vera Wang dresses are insanely expensive.  And, as my cousin Karen noted - she's pretty sure you have to sell a kidney to be able to buy one.  Well, I think I need both kidneys - so no "real" Vera Wang dress for me.  However, it's much harder to turn down a $1,200 dress.  Even though this is about 6 times what I wanted to spend.  You see - I know that $1,200 is perfectly in line with lots of dresses.  But, I also know that this is a whole lot of money.

But, check it out.  I mean, really, check it out:

I think what I love the most is the bottoms of most of her dresses.  They're just so fluffy, for lack of a better word.  I don't think I've seen other dresses like them.  I love them.  And, I love this one.  This is the dress that has made me doubt my budget and frugality.  I L.O.V.E. IT!!!

Would you splurge on the budget for an amazing dress like this????

Centerpieces

Up until moments ago, I've had it in my head that Crissy and I would have fresh flower centerpieces at our wedding/reception.  I love flowers.  And, I'm a firm believer in fresh flowers at weddings (no offense to those people who go with something other than this).  While I once upon a time yearned for towering formal centerpieces with cascading flowers, I have much smaller and realistic expectations these days.  You know what?  Those expectations also fit me much better (not to mention our budget).  So, something like this is what I've had in mind for the tables where people will be eating, drinking, chatting and enjoying the evening of our wedding:

source
That was, of course, until I stumbled upon something so much better.  I think perhaps more than flowers, I love candles.  Lots and lots of candles.  The idea of postponing the wedding to just a smidge later in the evening to make it at sunset so it could be more candlelit would make me thrilled....but then I just would have to worry all too much about lighting.  And, me worrying more isn't exactly on the agenda.  Plus, we'd hate to have anyone starve by waiting too long.  Enough about that....onto the picture that changed my centerpiece vision.  Here it is in all of it's beautiful candlelit glory.

Isn't it beautiful?  Can't you just see yourself sitting there in one of those chairs enjoying one of our tasty beverages (also in a mason jar) and preparing yourselves to dance to your heart's content?  I think Crissy and I need to start revisiting the thrift stores in town and stockpiling mason jars.  I KNOW we don't have enough after seeing this....

The Great Debate

Dark chocolate versus milk chocolate?  Nope.  White bread versus wheat bread?  Nope.  Actually, this is a much bigger deal than either one of those things.  And, if I were feeling more creative at 10:00 at night after a hard workout and moving offices today, I would have had really clever "debate" options listed at the beginning of this.  Instead, I feel brain dead and I can barely spell right (or, technically, type correctly) at this moment.

source

The Great Debate in question?  Marriage versus civil unions.  In case you missed it (or don't live in Illinois), the Illinois House approved a civil unions bill on November 30, 2010 and the Senate approved it on December 1.  That means that civil unions for same sex couples (and others) is *fingers crossed* just around the corner.  Governor Quinn is supposed to be signing this bill sometime, well, now.  The last news about the bill seemed to imply that he would likely sign it before the end of 2010; however, there doesn't seem to be anything that documents this.  A little frustrating?  Yes.  It's expected to go into effect July 1, 2011, though.  So, yep, that means that our wedding will get to count.  Mostly.

Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic about Illinois passing the civil unions bill and about the possibility of Crissy and I being recognized as a couple in some capacity within the state.  But, while civil unions have their positives, it's still not a marriage.  It might seem silly to others that I care about that one word, "marriage," but it makes a difference.  Marriage means that the union is recognized in any state.  If we were a heterosexual couple and had the same ceremony we're planning, we could travel anywhere in the country - or world - and be recognized as a married couple.  Instead, when we travel after September 3, 2011, we still don't technically get to call ourselves married.  How we end up dealing with all of that is yet to be seen.  Marriage means that you get that box to check on every stinking form you fill out EVERYWHERE.  Have you ever seen a box for civil unions?  Nope.  Now, I'll be honest, I've fought that marital status box from the moment I got divorced.  I've hated having to fit one of the categories they pre-determine for me.  But, now that I'm about to join the person I love for the rest of my life - I want that option.  I want that stupid, little, tiny box that will recognize what we have.  Marriage means that the federal government recognizes you, that it impacts your taxes and that you're covered by FMLA.  Civil unions?  Not so much.  Now, I realize that FMLA doesn't impact all businesses due to size and whatnot - and that some businesses/corporations may have their own same-sex partner benefits that include something similar to FMLA.....but it's not the same. Did you know that the federal government affords more than 1,100 benefits and protections to married citizens that are not afforded to those in civil unions?  (source)  Marriage means if you want to change your name, you show people the marriage certificate.  It's pretty easy, really (well, it's a lot of time consuming efforts - but not too hard all in all).  Civil unions?  Name changes requires a court and lots of fees.  That's a big bummer if you know about the conversations Crissy and I have had about changing our last names to become one unified family (*please recognize that we WILL sometime soon post some of the fun last name suggestions received from our engagement parties).  You see, here's the deal:  We just want to be equal.  I want to fill out a marriage license for our big day, not figure out what we'll need to do for the new civil unions in Illinois.

Here's what civil unions will do for Crissy and I (which again, I am grateful for):

  • We'll be able to make medical decisions for the other, if ever needed
  • We'll be able to visit the other in the hospital without hassle(let's hope this and the first one aren't needed for a VERY long time!)
  • Adoptions will be easier (though, Illinois, has allowed same-sex adoption before now)
  • It means less hoops we have to jump through to be on one health insurance policy
There will likely be other benefits, as it seems the intent is to entitle the same legal obligations, responsibilities, protections and benefits afforded to spouses - to those in a civil union.  It sure would be nice, though, for that bill to be signed and for us to see exactly what they have in mind.

I will say, though, that Crissy and I are pretty lucky.  I work for a great, small agency that is fully supportive of me, my relationship, Crissy and our decision to marry (regardless of what Illinois wants to call our ceremony).  On top of that, Crissy's employer grants domestic partner benefits (albeit difficult to acquire, perhaps).  Not to mention the fact that we have friends and family who are supporting us on this journey.

We just want to know - what's wrong with a little marriage equality?  And, what's taking the U.S. so stinking long to make it happen?

To Be or Not to Be?

That is the question.  See, one of my favorite wedding sites is essentially a collaborative blog with entries daily by other brides-to-be (or brides after the wedding date).  I love reading it.  I love seeing other ideas people are having for their weddings.  I love seeing the pictures of people's weddings after the fact - and seeing how all of their ideas have come together.  I appreciate how much of a community it really seems to be for these brides.  It might sound kind of cheesy, but that's okay.  You see, this website has brides on big budgets, small budgets, various states, gay, straight, and anything else.  Beyond that, there are tons of "do-it-yourself" wedding ideas.

You have to apply to be one of their bloggers - and there are rules.  Like, you have to write for an audience (okay, no big deal); you have to ask a question at the end to spark conversation (okay, if I have to); blog once a week or more (doesn't seem to be a problem so far); and, you have to blog about wedding stuff (check, check).

So, I'm contemplating applying.  I just don't know if it's really me or not.  It could be fun, though..... Or, maybe I'm just crazy.

Resolutions and Regime Changes

I don't know that Crissy and I really the "New Year's Resolution(s)" kind of people; however, we have resolved to get back on track with our eating.  Following New Years Day, we have done well with our eating each day and it's felt great to be healthy again.  Not that we don't like the occasional "crap" food, but a few busy months with things like holidays, birthdays and weddings meant more unhealthy food than we're used to.  So, back on track it is.  The good news through all of that, though?  No weight gained for either one of us!

I think the unwritten resolution(s) for us involve being happy enough with ourselves (individually) to go wedding dress shopping in March or April.  That gives us another three months or so to make it happen!  Crissy is doing awesome and I have no doubt that she'll look great when we do go try some dresses on!  (Though, it should be noted that I think she looks great now....).  I certainly won't be at any type of goal weight by April, but I'm hopful to be smaller, have lost some weight - and perhaps even more importantly - inches.

Workouts are changing starting tomorrow - and I'm super excited!  Friday night I went to the launch of Body Flow, a fusion class of pilates, tai chi and yoga.  I've been scared (for lack of a better word) to try it for the full two and a half years I've been a member of the gym.  See, I used to take pilates - almost religiously.  When I worked for COUNTRY, I took pilates twice a week for years.  I loved it.  It was relaxing, while at the same time making notable changes in the shape of my body.  Body Flow is even better, in some ways.  One of my favorite parts?  The ten minutes of relaxation/meditation at the end.  So, having started today, it is my new Sunday morning workout.  And, when doing it - I look something like this, I'm sure (except I'm a girl):

Also starting this week is the Biggest Loser competition at the gym.  Eight weeks of challenging workouts by Sam, weekly assignments and Saturday morning challenges.  What's in store for us this Saturday morning?  An RPM cycling challenge....the first couple to hit 30 miles wins the challenge and a gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods.  We're totally game.  What makes it even better?  Crissy likes to bike....and does so regularly at the gym.  Beyond that, I'm committing myself to get back on track to going to Body Attack every Thursday night - even with my Thursday morning workouts with Sam.  Body Attack kicks my ass....it is absolutely everything the name implies....but it's so good!  And, the most exciting part of my regime change?  I get to start Pilates Reformer training with Sam on Friday.  Due to some really great people in our families, I had enough saved from my birthday and Christmas to pay my part of Biggest Loser and Reformer training.  I am beyond excited for Fridays at noon!!!  In case you don't know what reformer training is, it's a machine that helps you keep your form for doing pilates and looks like this:

I get to have a great balance of cardio, butt kicking groups and classes, calming yoga-like classes, individual training sessions and challenging pilates reformer sessions all each week now.  Come on changes!!!  If this doesn't keep me on track and result in significant changes - I don't know what will.

I'd like to try on a wedding dress and have this reaction:

Instead of this one:

Want to know what we say?  Bring it on!!!

All things paper - and not

I really love invitations - more specificially, I really love the look of layered invitations.  The biggest problem with beautiful tri-fold, layered or pocket invitations?  Lots of paper.  Which then equals lots of money (and waste).  So, in the interest of saving some money, I peruse invitation ideas.  Okay, let's be honest - I peruse ALL wedding ideas.  One thing I've consistently really liked is the idea of some type of fabric invitation - or at least incorporating fabric into the invitation somehow.  For example, there are these cute fabric "pouches" for invitations that I posted a few weeks ago:
Just a note, though - I wouldn't use fabric that looked like this
Or, I could steal this idea from the Knot and make them be our invitations instead of programs, like they've suggested:
(Source)
Or, there's this idea - which incorporates my preferred layered AND tri-fold effects....plus I could use burlap.  It might just end up being a winner.  Who knows.
The inside would clearly NOT be yellow.  I can just envision the first tab being our tree "logo" and the invitation language on the second tab...followed by a map or something on third.  :)
But, oh how I love burlap.  Just check out the possibilities!

Burlap Invitations

And, then of course there are things to consider with programs.  There's the paperless chalkboard option for all to see before finding their seat:

Or, there's a more traditional program option - but only one simple square rather than pages of information:

Or, there's the newer fan program option, which has its perks as we are getting married Labor Day weekend.  There is certainly a chance that it will be quite warm outside.

What do you think?

I LOVE it!!!!

Okay, so I know I have posted lots of pictures of dresses...but this one is different.  I'll be the first to admit that I have liked - and perhaps even loved - a lot of the dresses of I've posted.  There are so many options!!!  Despite liking and/or loving all of those other dresses, I LOVE this one.  I haven't had that "oh my gosh I have to have it" reaction to any of them....until this one.  Oh, it's amazing.  And, it's super mega on sale - but only for another week.  And, by on sale - I mean actually less than the very limited amount I had wanted to keep my dress budget to.  And, that's pretty amazing (and low)!  Here's the dress as it's shown on the website - it's not one that will actually allow me to change the color and have the picture reflect it, so there are a few pics below it that people have posted of themselves in it, in various colors.

This is what's shown on the website - in silver/grey
Someone's picture of it in white
The dress in ivory - which doesn't look much different than the white, honestly
The dress in champagne
I won't lie....I've really thought that I would get a white or ivory dress.  However, I think I might like the champagne color the best.  Plus, I love that when the dress gets picked up, you see the different layers underneath in white.

How do you ever pick a dress?  And, what color would you choose????

Oh so indecisive

I may be, perhaps, one of the most indecisive people ever.  It's not really because I don't like to make choices (unless it pertains to picking a restaurant...then I don't want to choose), but it's really more about a fear of picking the wrong thing and not being happy with my decision.  In this particular case, with regard to dresses specifically, it's about loving soooo many things that I find!  For example, in a prior post, Kristy and Darci were awesome and tried on bridesmaid dresses one Saturday morning.  After several being tried on, they both found one they liked.  Well, given the fact that we still have eight months until the wedding, that gives me plenty of time to look at other things.  So - the other day it was looking for really great deals on dresses.  I found a few - one of which includes this really awesome multi-way dress from Victoria's Secret that I think could get a lot of use out of it.  See, as it gets closer and closer to making real and legitimate decisions about things - I find it harder and harder to justify the people in our wedding spending gobs of money on something they'll never wear again.  I think that's what makes this exactly what a wedding should be about - getting married that day.  Because that's exactly what my concern is - it's not whether Kristy and Darci want to wear the same dress, or if our dad's wear black dress pants because that's what they already own instead of brown dress pants because they match, or whatever.  It's about marrying Crissy.

And, now I've completely digressed from my original point (which was much more meaningless than what I ended up writing, but still....).  So, in the midst of looking at all things wedding, I've begun to not only find other bridesmaid dresses that I like - but also started to wonder about Kristy and Darci wearing a peacock colored dress.  You know, to add a little color to the outdoors.  I mean, we will be surrounded by green and brown with the grass, trees, leaves, etc....why not spice it up a little?!?!  (just for the record, Crissy's vote - I think - is still for brown dresses).  Here are a few new ones I've found:

This is just the peacock color of the first dress shown here in brown
Oh, and don't worry - the indecisiveness doesn't only apply to bridesmaid dresses...it's completely impacted wedding dresses too.  Check out these two that I really like today:

This one has pockets (a definite fun bonus!) and I could add some bling to the belt to jazz it up a bit - and I could still wear some huge, funky necklace which is very me...
You'll have to imagine this one in all white - I LOVE the ruffles!

Lots of things - and Happy New Year!

Happy New Year's everyone!!!  In the interest of being the old ladies that we are (if you've read our blog before now, you know we're grandmas), Crissy and I spent New Year's Eve inside our house in comfy clothes and watching movies.  My brother and Clare did stop by for a little bit before they hit the town....in their fancy clothes and shoes.  I, for one, definitely felt even more like a bum in comparison.  Oh well.  Crissy and I had a good night and appreciated how low key everything was for us.  We did discuss getting pretty next year and actually going out....

To start off the year right, we slept in, made breakfast at home, had Kristy over during our breakfast time, then went to my parent's house for Christmas time with my grandparents and Aunt Karen.  I know we didn't spend as much time at my parent's house as I'm sure they'd like...but we'll be back again for the whole weekend in a few weeks.  My dad has some "installation" thing where he becomes the Monarch of some secret society.  Really....this is about all I understand about it.  I know that when I ask questions, I frequently get "I can't answer that" types of answers from my dad or my grandpa.  Here's what I do know - this is a big deal to my dad and even though I don't understand the whole secret society business, it's cool that my dad gets to be a Monarch.  Which really just makes me think of butterflies...and how easy it is for me to turn things relating to my dad into something really cheesy....but makes me laugh.  Like Monarch making me want to say that he's becoming a butterfly......and his middle name being Ronald and me always calling him Ronald McDonald as a kid.  Okay, enough of my lameness....

On the topic of dads, Crissy and I have had this plan for ties for our dads for the wedding.  We haven't disclosed it, but our idea changed today when my dad opened a Christmas present from my grandparents - a Jerry Garcia tie.  My dad LOVES Jerry Garcia ties.  I don't remember when he became a tie snob and began only wearing Jerry Garcia ties, but it definitely happened somewhere along the way.  He got this great tie today in colors similar to our wedding.....which made me suggest to Crissy that we maybe just buy her dad a matching tie.  So, this then got me to looking at other Jerry Garcia ties.  You know what I figured out while doing this?  They're not lying when they say Jerry Garcia ties are limited editions....I can't seem to find two of any of the ones I really liked, like the one below or this one Jerry Garcia Courtyard Performance, #43:
Here's what else happened today:  my grandma tried a Corona; ate my salsa cheese fondue that contained both Corona and tequila; and, tried a jello shot.  Oh, and she almost threw up the jello shot.  Oops.  :-(  For some back story, my grandma doesn't drink.  I don't really know why....I don't know if she's opposed to it for some reason or if she doesn't like it....or what.  But, I know she doesn't drink it.  And, after today's experiences - she's probably not likely to ever eat any type of jello I ever make again - alcoholic or otherwise.  She tried one of the jello shots made for Christmas and spit it out immediately.  Sorry, Grandma!!!

Crissy and I also discussed what we'll do in the event of rain, a bit more today.  She made a suggestion that she must not have heard suggested at some point in the past.  Though, in the past, it was more of a joke....on our drive home, it became more of a legitimate conversation.  More on that later...we have some more things to talk about.  Plus, we're still waiting to hear back from Venue (the place we'd really like as a rain option) and need to talk to my dad about a few of the things we're thinking about.

Now that all of the holidays have passed and our lives can go back to something resembling normal, we get to "get back on track" with our diet and losing weight.  We also start an 8-week "Biggest Loser" competition at the gym on January 10 that includes things like "homework" (aka 1,000 steps - like up and down the stairs kind of steps - in a week) and challenges on Saturdays.  Hooray for losing weight!

ps - Check out the polls to the right - and give answers, please!!!!  :-) Thank you!

Wedding Colors

It seems like we've been asked a lot lately what our wedding colors actually are.  So, in the interest of answering all of those questions and letting everyone prepare themselves for what's to come.....they are a deep, dark chocolate brown; a green that I describe as "apple green," but is really probably more difficult to explain; and a peacock color.  So, to aid all of you who still wonder what all of these look like, here are some inspiration boards I found that incorporate our colors:

The specific "peacock" color that I love the most? The one that is the dress on the far right
